Exploring the origins of the hobby's most popular pre-war card set

I'm gathering various theories on the scarcity of the Plank card and will be creating a page for him 'soon'.  If you have any ideas that you would like to include, let me know.  I am also looking for a good 300 dpi light-background image of the card, for this site, as well as the original photo image used to create the card.
